Mary Green, DVM

Dr. Mary Green grew up in a small town in southern Illinois with her parents and brother. She moved to Missouri to complete her undergraduate studies at Truman State University and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri in 2010. She practiced at a mixed animal clinic in North Dakota before heading out East to work for the USDA, but made her return to the Dakotas in 2016, falling in love with the Yankton area.

A member of both the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the SD Veterinary Medical Association (SDVMA), she took a position at a small animal veterinary clinic and truly enjoyed providing veterinary care to clients and their pets in Yankton and the surrounding areas. During the past year, Dr. Green worked at a busy emergency veterinary hospital in Oklahoma City while obtaining her certification in animal chiropractic and acupuncture. Dr. Green is very excited to be bringing these services back to Yankton.

When Dr. Mary is away from the clinic, her 9 cats, 4 dogs, and turtle keep her on her toes!

Dr. Schenk

Jennifer Schenk, DVM

Dr. Schenk is a recent graduate of Oklahoma State University, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. Before veterinary school, she laid the groundwork for her career in animal health by earning her bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where her love for science and service flourished.

Originally from Cedar Park, Texas, Dr. Schenk’s journey into veterinary medicine was sparked during her high school years through active participation in FFA and horseback riding. She gained hands-on experience in agriculture and animal care, which solidified her commitment to serving both animals and the communities that depend on them.

At home, she and her husband are kept on their toes by two energetic companions—a devoted German Shepherd (Ellie) and a spirited English Setter (Scooby). They remind her daily why she chose this path. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys diving into a good book, experimenting in the kitchen, and exploring new destinations.

Dr. Schenk is excited to join the Yankton community and is committed to building lasting relationships with her clients while delivering compassionate, high-quality care to pets and their families.
